The Modesty Apron is used to protect a patient’s dignity. It consists of a wide, ankle length apron, a secure belt and buckle device, and Hook & Loop Tape tabs at the two bottom corners. It can be fitted to the patient in one of two ways:
- The first is to secure the Apron, using the adjustable belt, around a seated patient and behind their chair. The bottom of the Apron is then attached, using the Hook & Loop Tape tabs, to the front legs of the chair.
- Alternatively, the Hook & Loop Tape tabs can be fixed underneath the chair by attaching the self-adhesive Hook & Loop Tape under the frame so it will not rub against the patient’s skin or nurse’s stockings, etc.
The second method of fitting the Apron, is the same as the first except that the Apron belt is attached solely to the patient’s waist. Attach the Hook & Loop Tape tabs as above.
General Public Restraint Authorisation Letter: If this product is purchased for use in a private home, we require authorisation from a suitable person. This is to ensure it will be used correctly and safely by the family and/or carers, and that using it will not be dangerous. Examples of a suitable person who is able to sign the letter are: Occupational Therapist; Physiotherapist; Clinical Nurse Manager; Registered Nurse; Doctor; or another suitably qualified person.
