The Shenton Safety Vest is a vest-type restraint which is open at the sides. It is designed to help people at risk of falling or hurting themselves.
TO USE
Place the Shenton Safety Vest over patient’s the head. Do up the double Hook & Loop Tape tabs on both sides of patient’s chest. Any drainage tubes can be positioned to come out between the sides of the vest. Wind the webbing around chair frame at pelvic area and fasten the buckle together. On smaller chairs, wind the webbing around the chair frame several times to reduce the length. If using in bed, it is important to wind the webbing around both side frames. This is to help keep the patient in the middle of the bed. Do the buckle up under the bed.
