The Zip-A-Bed consists of:

In use, the Top Sheet/Bedspread does not look like a piece of hospital equipment as it replaces bed side rails and provides a more normal look to the bed. It is available in a variety of patterns that look homely. Due to the different depths of mattresses and different sizes of Patients, we have provided adjustable straps on both sides of the Top Sheet/Bedspread. If the Top Sheet/Bedspread is too loose across the Patient’s chest, simply pull one or both of the straps for a better fit.
If necessary, you can use the Zip-A-Bed for fire evacuation. In an evacuation, undo the two straps that hold the Bottom Sheet to the bed frame and attach them over the top of the Patient. Then lower the Patient, cocooned inside the mattress, off the bed, and tow them to safety, including down stairs.

General Public Restraint Authorisation Letter: If this product is purchased for use in a private home, we require authorisation from a suitable person. This is to ensure it will be used correctly and safely by the family and/or carers, and that using it will not be dangerous. Examples of a suitable person who is able to sign the letter are: Occupational Therapist; Physiotherapist; Clinical Nurse Manager; Registered Nurse; Doctor; or another suitably qualified person.
